During Hurricane Helene, a rumor about FEMA operations started moving through Pensacola faster than anyone could correct it. Statements were not slowing it down. Statements rarely do.
So we went and looked. We documented what was there, timestamped and unstaged, and posted the record where the rumor lived. It reached 187,000 views, and the argument changed because the evidence was checkable by anyone who doubted it.
You cannot out-talk a rumor. You can out-show it.
